Autumn Beef Soup


1 lb ground beef or sirloin

½ C chopped onions

3 cloves garlic 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced

3 cups hot water

1 cup beef broth

¼ C Teriyaki sauce

1 T balsamic vinegar

1 C chopped carrots

1C chopped potatoes

½ C chopped celery (optional)

garlic salt and salt and pepper to taste

½ tsp Basil

16 oz tomatoes (I use Fire Roasted, diced)

½ C catsup

½ C barley, cooked


Brown meat, onions, garlic, mushrooms in large pot.

Add seasonings, liquids and vegetables

Bring to a boil

Simmer at least 30 minutes.

*****I also add white kidney beans and about 3 more cups of beef broth
